Question 7. Looking back at my Preliminary task, what do I feel i have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Probably the most important aspect of the what i have learnt is the requisition for time management and appropriate planning skills. To me, this was vital because my own research and planning did not go so well because of these factors and other external ones, so I feel that I have learnt my lesson from that ordeal. In addition, thorough planning and preparation for the production of your final piece is also strategically important. You can place timed objectives of what you want to achieve in a given period making the production run smoothly and without hiccups, provided you have planned for outcomes. Also, what I found vital to my work, was my progression in technical photography skills. In particular, my skills on Photoshop. From lectures we received during the lessons as well as YouTube clips I watched religiously for long periods of time, my skills dramatically improved during the production process. As my confidence grew, i began to get more tempted in pushing the boundaries in conventional music magazine making, disruptive dominant ideologies and replacing them with emergent ones to keep the magazine looking as fresh as possible; a feat appealing to my target audience as demonstrated by my video. My awareness of how much target audiences effect the production of magazines has rose staggeringly. The audience drives everything in a magazine, from fonts, to content. Reiterating then. I believe that the most important thing i have learnt from the production and research processes is the importance of time management and priority allocation. In order to accomplish a good piece of work, one must be organised and focused. Looking back, in hindsigh, my goal was to create a Magazine product aimed at young intelligent educated people. Another factor was that it should break the dominant ideologies of mainstream magazines. I feel i have accomplished this.
